APRIL IS HEALTH MONTH

We are promoting HEATH this month with the theme:
"RESTORATION through AWARENESS AND EDUCATION"

Featuring : C.R.E.A.T.I.O.N. Health

The Health & Temperance Ministry in cooperation with the Sabbath School and Personal Ministries will be featuring Health Issues and Health Matters during their time. Our church family will have a wonderful time exploring health in several dimensions -  physical, mental, emotional, social, financial and of course, spiritual!

We will also be using the April Sabbath Afternoon Programs to train and prepare our church members for Health Evangelism using our health message.

Watch out for two upcoming Health Expos:
May 3, 2009 - Local Church Health Expo
June 14, 2009  - Community Health Expo

On May 16 -19, 2007 - The FFSDANJ Church board sent 2 official delegates to attend the CHIP Leadership Seminar in Columbia Union College, Takoma Park, Maryland. CHIP is an acronym for Coronary Health Improvement Project. CHIP is a four-week, community based, lifestyle health education program in which Dr. Hans Diehl, founder and director, is the principal speaker in the video presentations.

The gist of the CHIP seminar was echoed back to the church and to the church board. The church at large warmly received the purpose of the CHIP.  In fact it was recommended that it be promoted to our church members and  be used as an outreach health ministry to our community and friends.

However, in order to conduct CHIP, the church needs a team that will plan and implement the program. They are to go through a series of  training themselves to  gather information and conform to a CHIP lifestyle to promote the program.  At the time of writing, the microCHIP team started the first of its series of training.  There are 15 members and friends who signed up for the microCHIP team building project.

In forming the microCHIP team, we have began the first phase of having a CHIP program in our church. The second phase is to choose a CHIP director and officially register the church with International Nutrition Research Foundation (INRF) which will provide the program license and the scientific video lectures of Dr Hans Diehl. The third phase would be to plan and lay out program for the full-scale CHIP program along with the team. These may take several months to accomplish. The fourth phase would  finally be to launch the program to our church, community and friends.

Continue to pray for this program to be used in our church health ministry, the right arm of the gospel news.
