A MESSAGE FROM PASTOR BARTOLOME:
From the bottom of our hearts, my wife, Susan, and I would like to express
our thanks and gratitude to all of you, church members, youth, and children,
for your love, help, support, and prayers these many years since September
11, 1998, when the First Filipino Church was formally organized as a company
and later on as a church. We had experienced a lot of difficulties in looking for churches to rent all
the way from Bayonne, Linden, Hazlet, and finally here in Plainfield.
We thanked those Baptists, Presbyterians, Reformed, Lutherans,
Episcopalians, and even a Roman Catholic Church in Linden for allowing us to
use their facilities sometimes for even a few months or weeks, and a few in
two or three years. Through all these experiences, you, beloved church
members, stuck with us. Your financial help - children's offering,
monthly pledges, help in selling oranges, musical presentation in various
churches and receive free will offerings after the program, etc, which
enabled the church to buy 18.5 acres or land in Old Bridge and eventually
sold, so we could purchase this church here in Plainfield - all these
sacrifices and of course your daily prayers for guidance for us as we
minister to the needs of the church - these and more will always be
treasured in our memories. Susan and I hope that you manifest the same
spirit of love and cooperation to the incoming church pastor who will be
sent by the Lord here through the New Jersey Conference. Pray and work
together with your local church leaders. We look forward to visiting
you now and then as we look forward to spend the rest of our lives in
helping establish Adventist kindergarten schools in so many islands and
communities in the Philippines where there in no Adventist presence yet as
well as in other neighboring countries. The work is great, but with
the Lord helping, we hope to extend the boundaries of God's kingdom through
the establishment of these schools... Please continue to pray for us as we
pray for all of you. |
